Sander Boelen is a mechanical engineering graduate from the Netherlands. He has 30 years of experience in R&D, Mechanical Engineering Design, Finite Element Analysis, and manufacturing. While working for McGill University, MPB Technologies, PerkinElmer, Alfalight and ITF Optical Technologies he gained hands-on expertise in designing and building instrumentation, process tooling, components and systems used in engineering laboratories, robotics, optics, fiber optics optoelectronics and electronics packaging. In 2005, he started his own business as a mechanical engineering consultant.

Over the years it became clear that a gap existed in his services: customers had difficulties developing their concepts. In 2016, Allegiant 3D was founded to bridge this gap by offering design and manufacturing services.

Today, customers benefit from an extraordinary mechanical and opto-mechanical engineering team led by Sander, and high-end manufacturing services provided by our experienced shop team.
